Ginnie Chadwyck Healey's favourite pieces from the SS22 collection

The Daisy
Imagine a pair of shoes that work as beautifully on a summer's day, with a neat navy dress or jumpsuit, and that also manage to retain their wow factor well into Autumn, when worn with jeans and a t-shirt, topped off with a navy blazer. Padded soles ensure all-day comfort and the heel height is just-so; tall enough to lengthen your legs and allow you to walk with confidence, but just the right kind of block heel that ensures zero tottering! (There is nothing worse than tottering in agony!) A final tip? If you don't want to work a red into your look, but you want to reflect the shoe's red stripe, add a bold red lip or try red nail polish - it will mirror the shoes really elegantly.
The Heeled Brancaster (Mango)
Mango colour shoes?! Yes! This is the summer to ensure your shoes do the talking and there's a big trend for bold, crayola-bright accessories. Red, cobalt blue, turquoise.... or mango. An easy way to wear any kind of bright colour on your feet is to balance the rest of the outfit using a relatively paired back palette. You want it to be quietly confident rather than booming and brash. Perhaps start with a cream suit, or try a soft blue shirt dress. This mango tone also works beautifully with gold jewellery so work this into your look - gold hoop earrings, or a great, chunky gold cuff. Of course, with the shoes being the star of the show, ensure they are prepped with the perfect pedicure too.
The Thornham
I've worn these for a few shoots and can absolutely vouch for their comfort - but above all their instant elegance. The gold-bit detailing adds a formal note, making them ideal for an all-day summer festival (flower or literary festival rather than music!) where the vibe requires slightly more oomph than a flipflop. All those floral dresses you've been buying? Now you have the perfect sandal and one that has a nifty strap around the heel so you can walk with greater poise. I also love the idea of a collared, linen blue shirt, tucked into a smart pair of shorts, belted and worn with an oversize tote in which to carry a jacket...or a bottle of fizz and strawberries.
The Brancaster (Jaguar)
If you've not yet found your animal print fix this summer, these could be just the thing. Whether we want to admit it or not, animal print is permanently in fashion. It's easy to work into all kinds of occasions, and it suits everybody, at any age. The trick is to wear it in the correct 'dosage'. Too much 'grrr' volume and it can give off the wrong signals - that I don't need to explain here! But in the right amount; a bag, a baseball cap, a swimsuit - or a great sandal.... the print ticks the 'cool classic' box and will never ever date. I love these sandals as much for a holiday look, as I do for wearing at home, with black cropped jeans and a loose silk back shirt, and long gold pendant. Again, allow the shoes to do more of the talking. For an evening barbecue with friends, I'd then add a belt and tie hair up in a neat bun or add a hairband. Little day-to-night touches that never lose clout.
The Heacham
If you're heading to the tennis and know you'll be walking far (and perhaps espadrille wedges aren't for you), then these are a great alternative. I've road tested them and they have good grip, so you won't slide, but really, they do what a classic loafer does but just in a more summer-appropriate way. Keep the look classic with a striped sundress, or a long, polka dot wrap dress. Keep hands free for that glass of Pimms by adding a cross body bag that has room enough for a lightweight cardigan to be rolled up - or even a small umbrella. The weather may be temperamental but these sandals will have staying power in both the style and comfort stakes.
The Holkham
The Holkham style returns again and again - and for good reason. The is your classic sandal that comes in a range of colours, meaning you can live in them, with every outfit, all summer long. Easy to pack, especially when (hand luggage only) city breaks mean your capsule wardrobe needs extra special consideration, they retain the Fairfax & Favor flare with next-to-no effort. Sometimes we don't want too much fuss from our fashion, more often than not we want comfortable classics that we can rely on. These work as easily with a strappy sundress to take you from sunbed to ice cream shop, as they do, in the city worn with a short suit and top-handle bag. Need I say more?
