British Polo in the Heart of India
In December, in the beating heart of India's Pink City, British Polo Day hosted what can only be described as an incredible three-day spectacle. The superb itinerary, which commenced in Jaipur before moving to Jodhpur, welcomed a bespoke guest list of globally influential individuals, members of ruling families, captains of industry and thought leaders.
The organisation celebrated its 63rd global gala event in true style at The City Palace Jaipur, displaying a plethora of cultural extravagances from traditional dancers to eye-watering, fire-breathing performers. A procession of camels were used to escort guests such as Lady Violet Manners, Social Influencer, and Misan Harriman, Founder ofWhatWeSee, to dinner. The entire display is set to live long in the memories of all that attended thanks to the truly impressive exhibition of polo and Indian culture.

It was a contest of perfection at Rajasthan Polo Club, where the Hackett British Army Team lined up against the Indian 61st Cavalry team in a bid to clinch the Chelsea Barracks Trophy, with two 5-goal teams evenly matched, the stage was set and the battle was on.

Flying from end to end, the roaring crowd were kept on their feet, Jamie Fry, Mossie Hamilton and Gaston Devrient left everything on the field in an exhilarating display of artistry and clout, both teams matched goal for goal for the majority of the game, no one brave enough to call it. Not until the final chukka, when Jamie Drummond-Moray stormed up the field and smashed home the winning goal, topping the scoreboard at 6 goals to 4 and declaring the British Army Team victorious.

BPD will be kicking off their next event in Abu Dhabi and Dubai in March before jetting off to New York in early June. Their annually anticipated GB event also hosted in June, will be graced pitch side by Prince William, Duke of Cambridge and Prince Harry, offering exciting times ahead.
