The Breast Cancer Now Collection 2024

Every year Fairfax & Favor support Breast Cancer Now, the UK’s first research and support breast cancer charity. This is our 9th year in partnership, and we want to make even more of an impact this year. We hope to encourage as many people as possible to get involved to help raise awareness of breast cancer and beat last year’s total!

The cause is very close to the hearts of Founders Marcus and Felix, as both their Grandmothers suffered from the disease.

Over the past 10 years The partnership has raised an incredible £483,977.82 to go towards funding vital research and support for people affected by breast cancer.

Fairfax & Favor is proud to support Breast Cancer Now for the 9th consecutive year. In this limited edition collection 100% of profits will be donated to the cause . We recently visited our ambassadors - Laura Middleton-Hughes, Ella Hines, and Phil Alderson - in locations that hold special memories for them.

Through these visits, we explored their journeys and experiences with breast cancer, and how these have influenced their personal style and appreciation for quality products.

Phil

Phil was diagnosed with breast cancer at age 44. As a man, he says that he struggled to find his place and felt isolated, especially after having surgery. At the time, Phil didn’t consider that his discovery of a pea-sized lump could be cancer. So today, he wants to help spread awareness of breast cancer and remove the stigma around men’s experiences with the disease.

“I seize every opportunity to raise awareness of breast cancer in men, wherever I can make an impact. Men are often overlooked in the breast cancer conversation, so I want to shine a light on this part of the cancer community.”

When it comes to clothing, Phil aims for style but always prioritises comfort. “I’m all about re-wearing items I feel good in, and I go through cycles of my favourite clothes. I’m particularly proud to be the first man to collaborate with Fairfax & Favor on their campaign, helping to raise awareness and funds through this special partnership.”

Laura

Laura Middleton-Hughes is living with secondary breast cancer, following a stage 3 primary cancer diagnosis at age 25 in 2014.

Laura said, “After a year of my cancer being in remission, I started to develop a pain in my shoulder, but I assumed it was a gym injury. After 6 months of no improvement, I had a CT scan and it showed that my breast cancer had spread to the bones in my shoulder, spine and pelvis. Aged 28, I found out my cancer was stage 4 and incurable.”

7 years on from her secondary breast cancer diagnosis, Laura is now an active campaigner and influencer. Laura’s been a part of the Fairfax & Favor x Breast Cancer Now collection campaign for the last two years and continues to raise awareness for breast cancer.

“Throughout my cancer diagnosis I've really made an impact on trying to share my experience and I do this through many ways. I love the fact that this campaign reaches so many people, women especially, and October is the month to shout about it.”

Laura told us how her personal style has changed since having breast cancer: “I lost a lot of my confidence with clothing after my mastectomy. But since I’ve had a reconstruction, I’ve managed to regain it.

I’m still girly, but I embrace being comfortable more than I used to. I want to buy things that I’ll wear for years to come.”

Ella

Ella was diagnosed with grade 3 primary breast cancer at 23 years old. The breast cancer was HER2 positive, so Ella had 6 rounds of chemotherapy. She said, “I lost a lot of weight and all of my hair. I also had a double mastectomy, and permanent breast implants 6 months later.”

“When I lost my hair, eyelashes and breasts, I lost my confidence too. I didn’t feel like me anymore. But now that I’m recovering and regrowing my hair, I’m finding my style again.”

“I like to dress smart casual, I like the old money look and I think Fairfax & Favor is a really good brand for that because their clothes are so tailored, fashionable and modern.”

Since being diagnosed at 23, Ella focuses on raising awareness for breast cancer among young women. “There are many more young people going through a similar experience as me and it is important that no one feels alone. It can be frightening dealing with such a serious illness at a young age, but it’s important to stay positive!”
